Dear Parents,
The June 1st International Children’s Day is an important day for our kids (or when we were kids). We, the parent representatives, are impressed by the persistent hard work that every kid puts in the Chinese study for this year. We consider that it is appropriate to provide them an opportunity to free up to celebrate this special day. After negotiation with the Chinese School, it is accepted by the School that the Chinese School will be shortened to be one hour (1:30 – 2:30), so that the rest of the day (2:30 – 4:30) could be used as a Family Field Day with a focus on fun activities for kids.
The preliminary arrangement is to have kids play interesting games together with their parents and Chinese School friends. Expect a lot fun! Some activities will involve Chinese language and culture at the same time. Our kids will have a chance to experience the gaming joy that most parents had at a child’s age (if born in a Chinese culture). Please see the representative games in the sign-up list that is provided in the link below.

This fun event will be planned and implemented by volunteers on their own time and effort. Volunteers currently include our parent representatives, high-schoolers in Chinese School Andover and school admin. The sole purpose is to enrich the experience of our kids and increase their enthusiasm in studying Chinese.
Because we do not have a fund, we sincerely request your support on this event by providing $5 for each of your children as the starting fund. The school will match 1:1 and this will effectively enable the establishment parents’ fund for future parents’ committee events. We are planning to organize events to raise additional fund if necessary. Parents are encouraged to contribute in this meaningful event. Please follow the link below to sign up the activity that you desire to help. Please let your child to bring $5 to his/her teacher on 4/7/2019 class.
The goal of the parent representatives group is to support the school to promote an environment where our kids enjoy Chinese learning and appreciate our culture on a land of diversity. This event is one of our efforts. Thank you for your support!
